Prince Svmuel’s collaborations have grown naturally from long-standing friendships, shared creative environments, and unexpected connections within online and local communities. One of his earliest and most meaningful creative partnerships is with Don Killfiger, a friend he has known since high school after the two played together in the band at Justin F. Kimball High School in Oak Cliff. Their musical relationship eventually developed into a series of independent recordings, including the Short of Light EP, a five-song project recorded entirely from a phone while both artists were still working with extremely limited resources. After promoting the project as far as their resources allowed, one song from the EP reached approximately 1,000 Spotify streams, while the remaining four tracks continued to build audiences in the 200–300-stream range. Their progression continued with “ROME,” which was originally recorded on a phone before Prince Svmuel built his own home studio and brought the song back into the studio to be re-recorded and developed further. That decision became a defining example of his growth as an artist and creator, with “ROME” eventually surpassing 40,000 Spotify streams and continuing to climb. Another important connection came through the Dallas live scene, when Prince Svmuel met SCAR WOODS at his second DALLASGOTNOW showcase appearance. After seeing Prince Svmuel perform both solo and alongside Don Killfiger, SCAR WOODS encouraged the two artists to work together and helped spark the collaboration that became “M.I.A.” The song represented an important moment in Prince Svmuel’s development, serving as an early response to the period when he was still largely a faceless presence within the music scene, with little visual representation or public exposure. “M.I.A.” became part of the transition toward making Prince Svmuel more visible as an artist, both creatively and within the local scene.
